Can’t believe this slipped my mind! Well, better late then never…..HAPPY BIRTHDAY Georges Méliès!!!!! One of the godfathers of cinema and film. Born on December 8th, 1861. Not only was he one of the very first filmmakers, but he was also, at least in my opinion, one of the most creative and imaginative visionaries to ever grace this planet.If you haven’t seen it already, go and celebrate his b-day by catching Martin Scorsese’s “Hugo”, which is basically a cinematic love-letter to Méliès and his films. If you’ve caught some of my earlier posts concerning the movie you’ll know I’ve had nothing but great things to say about it!
