WILD WOMEN OF SONG - Performance & Lecture Friday, Feb. 3rd 12PM in Gerlinger Hall and a performance only version again at 7:30PM in the EMU Ballroom.

Be sure to check this one out. Playing at two locations in Eugene, Wild Women of Sound is a celebration of music from the 1920’s through the 1950’s. The event highlights female songstresses and writers who made undeniable contributions to the American Songbook, but have gone largely unrecognized. Pameka Rose and her 5 piece band will present the works of these musicians and shine a light on the cultural and historical context of the women of Pan Alley. They will also reveal the role of popular music during the Depression and World War 2.

A performance and lecture will occur on Friday, Feb. 3rd at 12PM in Gerlinger Hall. A performance-only version will be held later that evening in the EMU Ballroom at 7:30. Even though this doesn’t have anything to do with cinema, think of how it might be interesting to make a little film about the performance and lecture…..just a thought.
