UO Cinema Studies is proud to be co-sponsoring a special screening of “Top Secret Rosies: The Female Computers of World War II”. This is a documentary directed by LeAnn Erickson that details a specialized group of female mathematicians in 1942 that helped win the war and usher in the modern computer age. Very interesting stuff, and an often overlooked part of WW2.
Stop by 150 Columbia Hall on Friday, March 2nd at 7PM for a FREE screening of the film. Open to the public! Afterwards a lecture and Q&A will be held with the filmmaker herself. Sounds like a great opportunity to get the lowdown on some film techniques and some historical insight into these lovely ladies who helped win the war.
