This month has been kind of lacking in the “good movie” department. I was severely disappointed by “Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance”, despite Nic Cage’s best efforts (Although Idris Elba was fabulous as always). Hopefully the newest vehicle for Paul Rudd will staunch the flow of crap that has been pumping from theaters lately. David Wain has directed yet another raunch-com, and it comes out this Friday. While Wain’s films have never been critic darlings (although “Role Models” got good reviews), I’ve always found them quite funny, and “Wet Hot American Summer” is probably one of my favorite comedies of all time. Rudd stars alongside Jennifer Aniston *le-sigh*. Ah well, she was hilarious in “Horrible Bosses” as Charlie’s nymphomaniac superior so I have faith. And keep in mind that even if it is bad……It’s got Paul Rudd.

Anyways, if you’re looking to see a movie this weekend, “Wanderlust” looks like it’ll be your best bet. That is if you haven’t already seen “The Secret World of Arrietty”, Studio Ghibli’s latest effort. It’s not a Miyazaki project, but it retains the unique charm of most of the company’s movies and does justice to the name.
