Coming up is a 3 week long film series in connection with Women’s History Month in March!

“Philosophia: Celebrating Great Women Philosophers” is series of screenings hosted by UO faculty members followed by a brief presentation and discussion with the audience.

The series kicks off with a screening of “Agora” (2009), a film about Hypatia, hosted by Prof. Rocio Zambrana on Tuesday March 6, 4-6:30 pm, in Lawrence 115.

The Next event in the series is a screening of “The Seventh Chamber” (1996), a film about Edith Stein, hosted by Prof. Beata Stawarska on Tuesday March 13, 4-6:30pm, in Knight Library, Studio A.

And finally we’ll have Judith Bulter’s “Philosophical Encounters of the Third Kind” (2007), hosted by Prof. Bonnie Mann, and screened on Tuesday March 20, 4-6:30 pm, in the Fir Room, Erb Memorial Union (EMU).

All of the screenings are totally FREE and open to the public. Good to see so many film events centered around Women’s History Month. On a related note, “Top Secret Rosies: The Female Computers of World War II” will be screened in 150 Columbia Hall on Friday, March 2nd at 7PM.
